One of my favorite activities to do with the kids is handprint/footprint art. I almost always use 8x10 canvases that I buy in bulk (although I need to start moving up in size since Noah's feet are almost too big for the 8x10 canvas!). For Halloween, we generally make ghosts out of the kids feet but this year we mixed it up a bit and made spiders too out of their hands! I got this idea from a project that Noah brought home from pre-school last year and I love the way mine came out!
It's very simple...just coat each hand in blank paint (excluding thumbs) and press against the canvas, overlapping the palms to form a spider...add some googly eyes are you're done! I also add a layer or two of Mod Podge over the finished product to seal it. This is a great way to preserve memories of little hands and feet...they grow all too quickly! I love looking at how much they've grown over the years as I compare one year to the next :)

This is a very cute craft and I'm sure it's neat to see their hands grow year after year.
ReplyDeleteThose turned out awesome! I love Halloween. We do ghosts every year too and the spider to see how much he grows every year :)
